Hurricane Sandy & Malaysians...

I was not really aware of the severity of Hurricane Sandy until I watched the news yesterday. Danggggg.... it dawn to me. Hey, this is severe. All I was thinking about was the well-being of my ex-students over at the States and the innocent little children and old folks there.

My imagination went wild, you know.. after the thunderstorm yesterday... the heavy rain made me think WHAT IF that happens here in Malaysia?? WHAT IF it happens here in Selangor?? CAN WE SURVIVE???

This was a satelite image 3 days ago...
 The effects were disastorous

I know some people (anti-Americans???) might say... they deserve it. I heard it from a few. Everyone has their own opinions, of course.

As a human, we just pray that the innocence will not be victims here.

I think this is a warning from the Al-Mighty that we are facing a climate change and the effect is like the film "The Day After Tomorrow"!! How can we survive that???

The morale from Hurricane Sandy:

1. Let's take care of our planet even better. Start recycling. Malaysians can be the worst at this part. We should have a 'first-class' mentality. Don't litter trash everywhere. Especially on the roads, worse while driving!! Come on. Claim yourself Malaysians as a civilized nation! (Just hate it when a piece of cigarette fell down the road or the plastic wrap of Mamie flew to your windshields).

2. Start caring for others. I know, we can be very cold with our neighbors. But, when disaster strikes, usually our neighbors will be the ones that will help us. It may be neighbors at your community or housing area or office (which reminds me, I should be extra nice with the Prof next door!). Let's be extra civilized on the road. Drive according to the law! It's not that difficult. You will be less angry, so do others.

3. Never ever judge people generally for their race or religion which can trigger racism. I have read a lot about Muslims hating the Americans for what happened in the Muslim countries. Also about Americans hating Muslims for 911. But, people... Not everyone are like that. We should and never generalize. ('Bersangka baik' is the best remedy here.)

4. Always pray good things about everyone. When you pray good things for others, good things will also come your way. InsyaAllah.

So, that's my take on this horrible event. What about you??
