Assalamualaikum and a great Saturday to all.
Today I felt the urge to update on Alif's condition.
First and foremost, I would like to say that despite my hectic schedule studying full-time PHD, the oh-so-stressfull-and-not-fixed timetable for Alif's therapy sessions... I am quite proud of myself. I managed to abide to all important milestones and urgent deadlines.
Alhamdulillah.
It's all from Him... the al-Mighty.
Alif has improved quite dramatically..
He can read even from tv and billboards.
I can say 80% of what he read he can write back, which was the biggest challenge of all before.
He had to learn local fruits and veggies, kitchen equipments, and general shapes. Every weekend we have to reinforce and revise whatever he had learn the whole week so that he remembers.
Despite all the good results, he has more to improve on.
Having visual perception is something that makes copying objects, drawing, arts and crafts such difficult task for him.
Short term memory also needs to be drilled everyday. So questions like, what did you do in school today is usually answered with "entahlah" (I don't know). So I have to provoke him with much straightforward questions like "what did u learn for maths today" or what did you have for recess" to get answers.
At least he is trying his best.
And we are there to help.. insyaAllah.
He is progressing fast... however my studies has taken a toll..
Well.... I can't have it all.. can I??
