After I joined Mercy Malaysia's Being Me Empowering Muslimah Conference last year (2012), I came to love Islam more and more. I come to learn that being a muslimah is no restriction to succeed in life. Even better, being a muslimah you have to be successful both in life here in dunya (while we are alive) and the life after death.
Almost every religion in the world promotes doing good and charity.
Allah's Messenger [صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم] said: "When a man dies, his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge and righteous offspring who will pray for him." [Sahih Muslim: 3084]
Allah mentioned in His Surah:
"Whatever is with you, will be exhausted, and whatever is with Allah (of good deeds) will remain."
[Qur'an - Surah Al-Nahl 16:96]
It's not like I am a preecher or something... I dare not to be. As my knowledge is also as scarce as others too, may be lesser. But during the conference, I realize that I want more than what I have. It's not only the realization that everyone will die. Death is a fact! You cannot deny. But it's also because I saw beautiful hearts help the less fortunate and made me want to be like them too.
MasyaAllah... there's a group of people who dedicated their time and energy to ensure others have food filling their tummy, have clothes to wear.
